I am always thrilled and honored when I get to photograph the wedding of one of my former students. My last event was even more special as I was photographing the reception of the mother of two of my former students.
Lucia’s sons, Sergio and Dominique, both successfully played football and ran track for me, as well as take my photography class. I got reacquainted with Lucia about a year ago when I went to a couple of Dominique’s City West Sports flag football events. Mom was their running the main booth and the snack bar. That is where I was introduced to her boyfriend Al, who was manning the grill and serving up some mean burgers and dogs. (Trust me, I sampled enough of them to make that assessment.)
They got married back in March, but planned on holding a reception in August so they could celebrate with family and friends. It was a wonderful event. featuring dinner, a comedy show, and concluded with bride and groom and guests dancing the night away in celebration.
The venue was the LaQuinta Inn. The party planners were Kristen, Margaret, Delores and Joey. The colors were a simple and elegant black and white.
After a fine dinner, catered by Buca di Beppo, the guests were entertained by the comedy stylings of Ernesto, and Lucia’s son, Sergio.
After the show it is time for the speech and the toast.

THE DANCE PARTY GETS STARTED!
During the dancing we were able to get a couple of photographs of Lucia with the grandkids.
A FINAL THOUGHT
In reality, everything in the wedding and the reception is about the bride.
In every reception I have photographed, there is always one image of the bride that seems shouts out
“Hey World! This is MY night.”
Congratulations Lucia and Al, and may you have many years of happiness.
